Steve Meinelt owner Greater Boston Running Company Steve grew up in Topsfield and attended Masconomet Regional HS where he ran Track and Cross Country. Steve attended Georgetown University where he was a scholarship athlete for the Hoya’s Cross Country and Track and Field teams focussing on the longer distance races. Upon graduation Steve ran professionally for Reebok and completed his first marathon, the Chevron Houston Marathon in January, 2007. Finishing 9th overall and as the 2nd American, Steve successfully qualified for the 2008 Olympic Marathon Trials by virtue of his 2:18:15 finishing time. He ran in the Olympic Trials in November, 2007 in New York City’s Central Park and finished in a very respectable 2:22:40. Steve is still training and is very active in the local running community.
